Bulz Recipe Polenta Sausage Bacon

Bulz recipe is a traditional Romanian dish, prepared from well-cooked polenta and cheese. Gather the edges of the polenta into a round shape and bake on the grill or in the oven. It can be eaten with milk, various salads of raw vegetables or roast meat. We cooked our Bulz recipe with sausage bacon cottage cheese and eggs!

  • Cornmeal 1 cup
  • Cottage Cheese 3 tbsp
  • Water 5 cups

Let's start

Sausages & Bacon


First let’s chop the sausages and bacon in cubes.


In a frying pan, add few drops of oil.


Then add fry the sausages and bacon at medium heat for about 10 minutes.

Preparing the polenta


Let’s prepare the polenta by boiling 5 cups of water in a large pot.


Now add 1 cup of cornmeal, gradually while stirring.


Stir in the polenta from time to time to keep it soft enough.

Making the Bulz recipe Sausage Bacon


On a stretched kitchen towel add few drops of oil and with a large spoon spread the polenta on it.


Now add the fried sausage and bacon cubes and cover it with 2-3 tbsp cottage cheese.


Keep spreading the polenta,  then fold the towel in a sphere shape like in our video and let it rest for a few minutes.


Now put the Bulz in a pan, crack 2 eggs on top of it and add slices of bacon.


Cook it in the oven for 15 minutes at 356F / 180C.


Serve it with sour cream, it’s delicious! Bon appetite!
